About the clinic
The clinic has three consulting rooms, a dedicated operating theatre, an X-ray and ultrasound room, its own laboratory and a hospital ward with separate areas for dogs and cats. Examination, imaging and surgery can all happen on the same day, with no need to move your pet elsewhere.
Dogs, cats, rabbits and small rodents, pet birds and reptiles. We don't treat farm animals or horses.
Appointments are booked in 45-minute slots. A routine examination takes 30 minutes, leaving time for questions and notes.
Every procedure, result and vaccination goes on the record. We can issue a copy or a report for another practice within 2 working days.
Surgery in the mornings, consultations and preventive care in the afternoons. The ward has 6 kennels and a separate isolation kennel.

Preventive care
We keep vaccination dates on the patient record and call you a week before they run out. We only vaccinate animals that are clinically healthy and were wormed 10 to 14 days beforehand.
The basic course for a dog, from weaning to the first booster. Avoid contact with unknown dogs until three weeks after the last dose.

The course applies to indoor cats and cats that go outside. For a cat that goes outdoors, we recommend adding the feline leukaemia vaccine after a test.

The rabies booster interval depends on the vaccine used, and we record it in the passport every time.

A rabies vaccination is only valid 21 days after it's given, so sort out the EU pet passport and the vaccination well in advance. Dogs coming back into Ireland also need tapeworm treatment 1 to 5 days before arrival. Rules differ from country to country; when you book, tell us where you're going and we'll give you a list of what's needed.
Prices
Prices are final and include VAT. The price of a procedure under anaesthetic covers premedication, anaesthesia, the procedure itself, a check-up after 3 days and stitch removal after 10 to 14 days. Medication and materials used during the procedure are included; medication to take home is charged separately.
Preventive care appointments are in the afternoons, from 14:30 to 18:15.

Treatment outside consulting hours or during emergency cover: €35 surcharge. Treatment on Sundays and bank holidays: €45 surcharge. Walk-ins during consulting hours: €10 surcharge if it means moving another booked patient. Emergencies are seen without this surcharge.
How it works
A routine visit takes 45 to 60 minutes from arrival to departure. Allow 90 minutes if blood tests or imaging are needed.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. We check your pet's record at reception, or set one up on your first visit. Dogs should be on a lead, and cats and small animals in a carrier.
We weigh your pet and note its weight, temperature and the reason for the visit. Weight is the basis for medication doses, so we check it at every visit.
We examine your pet from nose to tail, check the teeth, skin and ears, listen to the heart and lungs and feel the abdomen. We explain what we find as we go.
If needed, we take blood or do an X-ray or ultrasound. We tell you the cost in advance so you can decide. We don't go ahead without your consent.
We sum up the findings, the options and their cost. You get a printed record, with medication doses and the date of the next check-up.
You pay at reception straight after the visit, in cash or by card. If a check-up is needed, we book it there and then.
Before surgery
These instructions are for planned procedures under general anaesthetic. For emergency admissions, we go by your pet's condition and give you instructions by phone.
If your pet hasn't drunk anything for 12 hours after surgery, is vomiting repeatedly, the wound is bleeding or visibly open, or the breathing seems fast and laboured, call us. We'll advise you what to do and, if necessary, see you outside consulting hours.
Emergencies
Outside consulting hours, the vet on duty answers the phone. Depending on the situation, they'll advise you what to do, or ask you to come in and have the theatre ready before you arrive.

Put the name of the vet you'd like to see in the note on the booking form. If they're not consulting at the time you chose, reception will offer the next free slot with the same vet when confirming.

There's a break between 13:00 and 14:00. The vet on duty takes calls then, and we'll see an emergency during that time too.
We're closed on bank holidays, with emergency cover only. We take blood samples until 11:00 and 17:30, so the results can go through the lab while you're still here.

There are 6 reserved client spaces outside the building, free for your whole visit. If they're taken, there are more spaces in the car park 120 metres to the north.
The nearest bus stop is 4 minutes' walk. From the stop, walk in the direction the bus was going and turn right at the second junction; the clinic is the third building on the left.
The entrance is level with the footpath, with no steps or thresholds. The doors are 90 cm wide, and the waiting room and consulting rooms are accessible with a wheelchair or a large carrier on wheels.
If your dog doesn't cope well with other animals, call us from the car on your number here. We'll bring you straight into a free consulting room so you can skip the waiting room.
We have a stretcher at reception. If you need help getting your pet out of the car, call ahead and we'll come out to the car park.
Payments and rules
You pay straight after the visit, in cash or by card. You can cancel an appointment free of charge up to 12 hours before, and we issue receipts or copies of records within 2 working days.

We invoice breeders, rescues and organisations on 14-day terms, by prior arrangement.
For planned procedures over €200, a €50 deposit is paid when you book, which comes off the final bill.
Before every procedure you get a written estimate. If something extra turns out to be needed during the procedure, we call you before carrying on.
Free of charge up to 12 hours before. Later cancellation or not turning up for a surgery appointment: €15.
We'll move your appointment by phone free of charge, as long as you let us know at least 12 hours before.
If you're more than 15 minutes late, we'll shorten or move the appointment so other booked patients aren't kept waiting.
You get a receipt straight away. A copy of the record, a report for another practice or paperwork for your insurer is ready within 2 working days.
We don't claim directly from pet insurers. We complete the claim form and give you the detailed paperwork to claim yourself.
We only use your contact details to arrange appointments, send vaccination reminders and give you results. We don't share them with anyone.
