They told me the price before they started, and at the end I paid exactly that. Nothing extra for long hair.

The last appointment starts an hour before closing. If you need an earlier or later time, put it in the note when you book — on quieter days it can be arranged.

Booking an appointment
Choose your services, day and time
The summary below works out the price and total time as you go. You pay at the salon.
Vouchers and groups
Gift vouchers, wedding mornings and corporate bookings
As well as regular appointments, we do gift vouchers and larger bookings outside opening hours. We arrange them by phone or through the form on this page.
Gift voucher
We issue vouchers for €30, €50 or €80, or for a particular service from the price list. They're valid for twelve months from issue.
You can pick one up on the spot at the salon, or we'll have it ready to collect on a day we agree. If the voucher is worth less than the service, you pay the difference on the day.
Wedding mornings and groups
For groups of three or more, we open outside our normal hours, Sundays included. We do hair and make-up one after another in the order we agree.
We confirm group bookings with a €20 deposit, which comes off the final price. Cancellations must be at least 48 hours before.
Business orders
We can prepare vouchers for staff all at once and bill them on one invoice. On request, we deliver them in envelopes with name tags.
For businesses next door, we also do quick touch-ups over lunch, at a fixed time by arrangement.

Getting here
Getting here, parking and finding the entrance
The salon is on Birch Road, just off the square. The entrance is from the courtyard, not the street, so we've written down here what you can't see from outside.
By car and parking
- There's disc parking outside the building, and the first hour is free
- Each extra hour costs €0.50, paid at the machine on the corner
- Parking is free after 18:00 and at weekends
- There's a larger car park on Mill Street, about 150 metres away
By bus and on foot
- Kinsale bus stop — the square is a three-minute walk
- From the college it's about ten minutes' walk along Birch Road
- The bike rack is under a canopy in the courtyard
- The courtyard is open throughout opening hours
Step-free access
- The salon is on the ground floor, and the courtyard entrance has no step
- The door is 90 cm wide
- There's room to turn a wheelchair between the chairs
- The toilet isn't wheelchair accessible — we're happy to help, just let us know
Coming for the first time? Look for the entrance in the courtyard through the archway by the florist's, not on the street. The door has a sign with the salon's name.
If you get lost or are running late, give us a call. We'll call back later in the day too, when we have our hands free between clients.
We take deliveries in the courtyard before 9:00, so they don't hold up booked appointments.

Terms
Payment, cancellations and what we need to know in advance
Short, and with no small print. If something doesn't work for your appointment, tell us in advance and we'll find a way.
Payment
We take cards and cash, and you pay after your treatment. You get a receipt for every payment.
We can prepare a company invoice on request — just say so when you book. Tips aren't expected and aren't included in the price.
Cancelling and running late
You can cancel or move your appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before, by phone or text.
We can manage if you're up to 15 minutes late, although we may have to shorten your treatment. If you're later than that, we'll move your appointment so the next client isn't kept waiting.
Before colouring
Before your first colour, we do a patch test 48 hours ahead. It takes five minutes and is free.
Tell us if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication for your skin, or have coloured your hair at home. It affects both the result and how we do it.
Groups and deposits
We confirm bookings for three or more people with a €20 deposit, which comes off the final price.
Group bookings must be cancelled at least 48 hours before; otherwise the deposit is kept to cover the time we held.
Children and companions
We cut children's hair from age three, and children's cuts under 12 have their own price.
There's room for one companion by the chair. We don't have a play area, but there are books and crayons by the window.
Your details
We need your name and phone number from the booking. We only use them to confirm your appointment and remind you of it, and we don't pass them on.

Care
Keeping your look between visits
We'll tell you the same in the chair. It's written down here so you don't have to remember it at home.
After colouring
Wait 48 hours before you first wash your hair at home. The colour is still settling, and washing sooner rinses out the shine.
Wash with lukewarm water — hot water opens the cuticle and the colour fades faster. Choose a sulphate-free shampoo.
Chlorinated water and strong sun change the shade the most. Use a protective spray before the pool and on holiday.
After a facial
Don't wear make-up for the first 24 hours. Your skin is flushed and your pores are open, so make-up would clog them straight away.
Skip the sauna, the pool and hard workouts for two days. Sweat and chlorine irritate freshly cleansed skin.
After a chemical peel, wear sun cream even in winter, or the pigmentation will come back faster than it went.
After a manicure or pedicure
Wear gloves for cleaning and washing up. Cleaning products dull gel polish faster than anything.
Don't use your nails as tools for opening things. Gel cracks from leverage, not from normal wear.
Cuticle oil once a day makes it last a few days longer, and your nails won't look dry.

We don't sell the products we use on you. We're happy to advise you on what to look for and what to avoid.

Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we work by appointment only. When a slot frees up at the last minute, we call people who asked for that in the note when they booked.
What if I'm late?
We can manage if you're up to 15 minutes late, although we may have to shorten your treatment. If you're later than that, we'd rather move your appointment so the next client isn't kept waiting.
How do I cancel or move an appointment?

How long does a big colour change take?

Can I come in just for a consultation?

Can I bring my own colour?
We don't work with box dyes from the chemist, as we can't vouch for them. We can use your own professional colour, arranged in advance, but we can't guarantee the final shade.
Do I pay in advance?
No, you pay at the salon after your treatment. The exception is group bookings of three or more, where we ask for a €20 deposit.

We have a free chair and space in the treatment room. If you love the craft and want to work at a calm pace, get in touch.
Hairdresser
Full-time, at least two years' experience. Your own chair; the salon pays for products and tools.
Pay is a fixed wage plus a share of takings — we'll give you exact figures when we meet.
Beauty therapist
Part-time, three days a week, in the treatment room with no sharing.
We can split peels and lash work according to what you enjoy most.
