Process
How a job works
Six steps from the first phone call to handover. We only start making once you've approved the design, the price and the date.
Step 1
Visit and measuring
We arrange a date within 3 working days of your enquiry. We measure the space, check the walls are true and where the services run, and bring samples of veneers, melamine, lacquers and hardware. It takes about an hour and is free.
Step 2
Drawing, 3D view and quote
Within 5 working days of measuring you get a dimensioned drawing, a 3D view of the units and an itemised price: carcasses, doors, hardware, worktop, delivery and fitting. The quote doesn't commit you to anything.
Step 3
Contract and 40% deposit
The quote is valid for 30 days, and we hold the fitting date from it for 10 days. The contract sets out the price, the scope of work and the fitting date. When you sign, you pay a 40% deposit for materials and hardware.
Step 4
Making in the workshop
It takes 5 to 8 weeks: cutting, edging, sanding and finishing. We dry-assemble the job in the workshop so any differences get sorted out here, not in your home.
Step 5
Fitting
1 to 2 days, depending on the size of the job. Delivery, levelling, scribing the fillers to the wall, and adjusting the hinges and drawers. We take away the packaging and offcuts.
Step 6
Handover and 60% balance
We check every door and drawer together. You pay the 60% balance within 7 days of handover. You get care instructions for the finish and a 24-month guarantee.
It's 6 to 9 weeks from signing the contract to fitting. The time depends on the material and on the hardware delivery. The exact fitting date is in the contract.

See a finished job
We'll arrange for you to see a finished kitchen or wardrobe at a customer's home, with their agreement. We look for a date within two weeks of your request, and we come with you.

Jobs in progress in the workshop
In the workshop you can see carcasses in progress, finished pieces before they're loaded onto the van, and the showroom. Come Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 16:30, ideally after a phone call.

Room
The workshop has a separate area for cutting and edging, and its own room for finishing, so sawdust doesn't get into the lacquer when we spray. Every machine has its own extraction.
We store boards flat in a heated store so they don't warp before we work them. We dry-assemble larger jobs in the workshop, so any differences get sorted out here and not in your home.
The showroom is right by the entrance. It has samples of veneers, melamine, lacquers and hardware, so you can feel the surfaces and try how a drawer closes.
Who runs your job
One person runs your whole job: the workshop manager. The design, the dates and every change go through them, so you don't have to explain the same thing to several people.
You can reach them by phone Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 16:30. If they're at a machine or out fitting, they'll call you back the same day.
You can come to the workshop to see your job in progress and the finished pieces before they're loaded onto the van. Arrange a time by phone — there are machines running, so we'll walk you round.

Payment, changes, delivery and guarantee
The same terms are written into the contract you get before making starts.

Payment methods
- A 40% deposit when you sign the contract, covering materials and hardware.
- The 60% balance within seven days of handover of the finished job.
- Pay by bank transfer, or in cash at the workshop.
- You get a receipt for every payment; businesses get an invoice on 14-day terms.
- For jobs over €6,000, payment can be split into three instalments.

Changes and cancellations
- You can cancel the contract free of charge within seven days of signing.
- Once materials have been ordered, we charge for the materials and hardware already bought.
- Small changes, like the handle colour or which way a door opens, are free until making starts.
- Changing sizes after the cutting list is approved means a new plan and a later date.
- We confirm every change in writing, so the price and the date still match.

Delivery and fitting
- Delivery within 25 km of the workshop is included in the fitting price.
- Beyond 25 km we charge €0.60 for each kilometre over that distance.
- Carrying up to the second floor without a lift is included; higher by arrangement.
- We take away the packaging, offcuts and dust after fitting.
- Removing and taking away your old kitchen for an extra €90.

Guarantee and service
- A 24-month guarantee on making and fitting.
- Adjusting hinges and drawers within a year of fitting is free.
- We keep spare hardware in stock for the guarantee period.
- After the guarantee, service costs €25 an hour plus travel.
- We deal with complaints within 30 days and arrange an inspection within three working days.

Do I pay for the measuring visit and the quote?
No. The first visit, measuring and the quote are free and without obligation. You only pay once you've signed the contract. If you choose another workshop, you pay nothing.
How long does making take?
Usually 6 to 9 weeks from signing the contract to fitting. Making and the hardware delivery take the most time. If you have a fixed deadline, we'll tell you at the visit whether we can meet it.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes, even a single cabinet or shelf. We fit smaller jobs in between larger ones, so the date is more flexible. If you need several small things, we combine them into one fitting and you only pay for delivery once.
What's the difference between melamine, veneer and solid wood?
Melamine is a board with a synthetic surface. It's hard-wearing and the cheapest. Veneer is a thin layer of real wood on a stable base, and it moves less than solid wood when the humidity changes. Solid wood is wood all the way through and can be sanded back after years.
Materials are usually combined: melamine carcasses with veneer or solid wood fronts.
We have old, uneven walls. Is that a problem?
No. We measure the differences and allow for them in the design. Gaps to the wall are scribed with fillers, and the height is levelled with adjustable legs during fitting.
How does payment work?
When you sign the contract, you pay a 40% deposit for materials, and the rest within seven days of handover of the finished job. The exact amounts and dates are in the contract. You get a receipt for every payment.
Do you look after appliances, the sink and the tap too?
You choose and buy the appliances yourself, and we prepare the cut-outs, ventilation and housings to their sizes. We fit the sink and tap; the actual water, waste and electrical connections are done by a plumber or electrician. If you don't have one, we'll help coordinate a date.
Can you make furniture from a photo or a design online?
From a photo we can work out the construction, material and hardware and tell you what can be made the same way and what differently. We don't make exact copies of protected designs, but there's almost always a way to get the same look and function.
When is the workshop busiest?
From September to December, when people want their homes finished before Christmas. In spring and summer the wait is usually shorter. We hold the date from a quote for ten days, then offer it to someone else.
How do I look after the furniture?
Melamine and lacquer just need wiping with a damp cloth, without harsh cleaners. We recommend giving oiled surfaces a thin coat of oil once a year — tables twice, depending on use. You get care instructions at handover, along with your guarantee.

The workshop is at 12 Craft Lane, and the entrance is through a gate on the side street, not from the main road. The gate is usually open during working hours. Once through, keep right; the showroom entrance is right by the parking.

Where to park
There are three reserved visitor spaces outside the workshop, free and with no need to book. If they're taken, you can park along the street. Please keep the area in front of the gate clear — lorries with materials use it.
By public transport
Bus stop and walk
The nearest stop is Craft Lane, a four-minute walk away. From the stop, walk straight on away from the centre; the workshop is the second building after the junction, with a simple sign with our name on the front.

Step-free access
The entrance is at ground level, with no step or threshold, and the door is 90 cm wide. The showroom and toilet are on the ground floor. A paved path with no kerb leads from the parking to the entrance.
