Seasonal changes to the menu
From April to October we have fresh herb lemonades and iced coffee, and in winter mulled wine and thick hot chocolate. We top the salad and the cheesecake with fruit in season, so the ingredients change through the year.
We change our coffee beans every two months. The current blend is written on the board by the bar, and we sell it in bags for home too.
Diets and allergens
We make the gluten-free base on a separate board for an extra €1.50, but the kitchen isn't gluten-free and we can't guarantee there are no traces of flour.
Vegan dishes are named on the menu: the vegetable pizza with no cheese, porridge made with water and the roast courgette salad without ricotta. We have oat and almond plant milk for €0.40.

04About us
The café, the space and the kitchen
A café with 42 seats and a courtyard terrace for 24. The dough proves for 48 hours in the cold, and we bake the pizza in a stone oven at 430 degrees.
In the morning we're a café; from eleven we serve the lunch menu, and in the afternoon and evening stone-oven pizza. The kitchen takes last orders 45 minutes before the café closes.
-
Seating and terrace
42 seats inside, 24 on the courtyard terrace. The terrace is open from April to October.
-
Takeaway orders
By phone or through the form. Usually ready within 15 minutes, within 25 at lunchtime and on Friday evenings.
-
Larger groups
Please book at least a day ahead for groups of more than 8. For business lunches we'll agree a fixed time and menu.
-
Step-free access
The entrance from Linden Street is step-free, and a ramp from the courtyard leads to the terrace.
Dough
48hours in the cold
We make the dough two days before baking and let it prove at 4 degrees. We stretch it by hand — no rolling pin.
Stone oven
430degrees Celsius
At this temperature a pizza is done in 90 seconds, with dark spots on the crust.
Bar
6kinds of coffee every day
An espresso blend, today's filter batch, cold brew and three milk-based coffees.
Courtyard terrace
24seats, April to October
No cars come into the courtyard; access is by ramp, and in summer there's an awning over the tables.
The space and who works in it
The main room has tall windows onto the street and a long oak table for ten that can be joined or split. By the window there are four tables for two with sockets, and at the back a quieter area with soft benches. The bar is right by the entrance, so you can collect a takeaway without walking through the whole room.
The courtyard terrace is separated from the street by a passageway, and no cars come into the courtyard. There are 90 centimetres between the tables, enough for a wheelchair or a buggy.
Lunch shift
5people on shift
A barista, a pizza chef, kitchen prep, floor staff and someone handing out takeaway orders. Outside lunchtime there are four on shift.
-
Barista
In the morning they're on the lever machine, making today's filter batch and looking after the grind and the coffee setup.
-
Pizza chef
Stretches the dough, runs the stone oven and keeps up the pace during the evening rush.
-
Kitchen – prep
Prepares the bases, vegetables and soups for the lunch menu, and breakfast in the morning.
-
Floor staff
Split into two sections, inside and on the terrace. At lunchtime there's an extra person handing out takeaway orders.

11FAQ
Frequently asked questions
If you can't find the answer here, write to us through the form or give us a call.
Do I need to book a table?
On weekday mornings, usually not. On Friday and Saturday after 18:00 and at lunchtime between 12:00 and 13:00 we recommend booking; otherwise you may wait 15 to 20 minutes.
Do you have gluten-free pizza?
Yes — the gluten-free base is €1.50 extra and we stretch it on a separate board. But the kitchen isn't gluten-free and we can't rule out traces of flour in the air, so always tell the staff if you have a severe allergy.
Do you have anything for vegans?
The vegetable pizza with no cheese is vegan, as are the roast courgette salad without ricotta and porridge made with water. For coffee we have oat and almond milk for an extra €0.40.
Can I pay by card?
Yes — card, cash or contactless by phone. We can split the bill; for groups of more than 8, please arrange that before ordering.
Can I bring my dog?
On the terrace, yes, no restrictions. Inside outside lunchtime by arrangement with the staff, as long as the dog stays by the table. We'll bring water for your dog if you ask.
Do you deliver?
No, we don't deliver. We're collection only: we usually have orders ready within 15 minutes, or 25 at busy times. We recommend eating a boxed pizza within half an hour.
Can I work on a laptop here?
Yes, Wi-Fi is free and there are sockets at the long table and by the window. Between 11:00 and 14:30 please free up the big tables for lunch; the back area is quieter then.
Can I hire the whole space?
Yes, on Sundays from 18:00 and all day Monday. We'll agree the menu, time and staffing; the deposit is 30% of the agreed amount. Write to us through the form and choose Private event as the type of request.
