A heat pump is most efficient at low water temperatures, which means underfloor heating.
Emergency service
Call us and then do this — you'll save yourself damage and money. We'll also talk you through it on the phone while we get into the van.
Turn off the main stopcock — it's usually under the kitchen sink or where the pipe comes into the house. If water is leaking into the flat below, tell your neighbours straight away, not after the repair.
Try resetting it once with the reset button and take a photo of the error code on the display. If it cuts out again, don't keep restarting it — with a burner fault that does damage.
Don't switch on lights or anything electrical, open the windows, turn off the gas at the meter and go outside. Call the Gas Networks Ireland emergency line on 1800 20 50 50, and then us.
Don't pour chemical drain cleaners in — with older cast-iron pipes they do more harm than good. We'll bring a drain snake and a camera if needed.
If you have a cylinder with an immersion, check whether the breaker or thermostat has tripped. With a combi boiler, the fault is usually in the diverter valve — and that's a job for us.
Try bleeding them and topping up the system pressure to 1.5 bar. If the pressure drops every week, water is escaping somewhere, and it needs finding before it soaks through a ceiling.

FAQ
It depends on what water temperature your radiators need. In an uninsulated house with radiators at 70 °C, a heat pump won't save much and tops up with electricity in frosty weather. If you're insulating the house or putting in underfloor heating, it's a completely different story. We'll work it out for your house — and if it doesn't add up, we'll tell you.
In an apartment usually one working day, two for a complete riser replacement. We agree when to turn it off in advance and can give your neighbours a notice for their door. We always leave the water working overnight if it's technically possible.
When switching to a condensing boiler, almost always — the flue gases are cooler and the old chimney can't handle them. It's done by fitting a plastic flue liner. We can arrange that along with a chimney inspection, so you don't need to find another company.
We do turnkey bathrooms, including tiling, sanitaryware and ventilation. The only thing we don't do is the electrics — for that we have a trusted electrician who comes at a time we agree between ourselves, so you don't have to.
A leak check, cleaning the burner and heat exchanger, checking the pressure and adjusting the combustion. It isn't required by law for an ordinary house, but manufacturers make their warranty depend on it, and without it the boiler burns more gas. We also service boilers we didn't install.
Seven years on installation; equipment we supply carries the manufacturer's warranty, usually two to five years depending on the brand. If something fails, we come within 48 hours, and if it's our fault, we fix it free of charge, call-out included.
