About us
Three generations on the same farm
Grandad took over the farm in 1994, when it came back into the family. Back then it was a few hectares and two cows. Today we farm forty-four acres, but there are still only three of us — and that keeps us from growing more than we can do properly.
We're not certified organic and we don't pretend to be. We spray only when there's no other way, and we always tell you with what and when — it's written on the board at the farm gate and in every veg box.

FAQ
What you ask us most often
Are you organic?
No, and we're not certified. It would mean paperwork and costs we'd have to pass on in our prices. We farm the way that makes sense: we rotate crops, fertilise with our own farmyard manure, and only use chemicals when we'd otherwise lose a whole plot. What we sprayed and when is written on the board at the gate and in the veg box.
Why are the vegetables sometimes crooked or smaller?
Because we don't sort by looks, but by taste and freshness. A crooked carrot has just as much sugar as a straight one. If something in your box really isn't right, tell the driver and we'll take it off the price — no argument.
How long does it keep?
Leafy vegetables three to five days in the fridge, root vegetables up to three weeks in a cool, dark place. We collect the eggs on delivery day, so they have a whole month ahead of them. The milk is unpasteurised — it keeps for three days and should be boiled if it's for children under three.
Do I have to order every week?
No, we don't do subscriptions. You order when you want. If you'd like a regular box, we'll make a note of you and message you on Monday with what's in it that week — and you just reply yes or no.
Do you sell meat too?
Yes, but only by arrangement and in limited amounts — beef and kid goat from our own animals, in cuts or as a box. They're slaughtered at an approved abattoir, not on the farm. Orders are made in advance, usually a month ahead.
How does payment work?
On delivery, in cash or by card — the driver has a card machine too. At the farm and at the market we take both. We can also invoice businesses and canteens, with 14-day terms.
