Crown on a front tooth
First visit: exam, X-ray and plan. Second: core build-up and an impression for the laboratory. Third: try-in and fitting of the finished crown.
01Practice
We treat adults and children. Appointments are for an exact time. Before every procedure we tell you what will happen, how long it will take and what it will cost.
Schemes we acceptWe claim routine exams and basic treatment directly from the scheme.
02Treatments
We cover everyday dental care for adults and children. We don't do complex oral surgery or braces; for those we refer you to a practice we work with.
New-patient and check-up exams, assessment of teeth and gums, an X-ray right in the surgery. You leave with a written treatment plan listing the steps in order and their prices.
Removing tartar and plaque, air polishing, polishing and a check of your gums. At the end we go through brushing technique and the aids that make sense for you.
Treating decay with white composite fillings, treating sensitive necks of teeth, root canal treatment and building up a tooth before a crown.
Ceramic crowns, bridges and removable dentures. We work with one dental laboratory and plan the dates so they follow on and you don't make unnecessary trips.
We recommend the first check-up at around age three. The first visit is usually just getting to know the surgery: the child sits in the chair and nothing is done. A parent stays in the room during treatment.
Every morning we're open we keep a short slot free for toothache, outside booked appointments. For cosmetic treatment we offer home whitening with custom trays and in-surgery whitening.
03Dentists
The same dentist sees your treatment through from the plan to the finished work. We tell you the dentist's name when you book and put it in the appointment confirmation.
Dentist, principal of the practice
Does new-patient exams and draws up the written treatment plan with prices. Focuses on restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges.
Dentist, children and emergencies
Treats children from age three and runs the morning emergency slot. A parent stays in the room when a child is treated.
Dental hygienist
Works in the second surgery with 60 minutes set aside per session, 75 minutes for fixed braces.
Reception and bookings
Answers the phone during opening hours, keeps the appointment diary and sends a text reminder the day before.
During every procedure there's a dentist and a dental nurse in the surgery. The nurse prepares the instruments, runs sterilisation in a class B autoclave and logs every cycle. We never treat two patients at once.
04Our work
Two common treatments with the number of visits and a price made up of items from the price list. You get the same breakdown in writing before the work starts.
First visit: exam, X-ray and plan. Second: core build-up and an impression for the laboratory. Third: try-in and fitting of the finished crown.
First visit: full hygiene session and impressions for the trays. Second: handing over the trays and gel with instructions. Third: checking the result after two weeks.
05Prices
Prices apply to private patients and to treatment beyond what a scheme covers. If the treatment is covered, you only pay the difference. We tell you the exact amount before treatment starts and it's also in your written plan.
The amounts shown are starting prices. You know the exact price before treatment starts, and for crowns, dentures and whitening you get it in writing. If it turns out during treatment that more work is needed, we stop and agree the new amount first. The price list on this page is an example and is only here to show the website.
06Schemes
We see patients under the medical card scheme and PRSI Dental Treatment Benefit, and we give receipts for claims to private health insurers. When you book we ask which applies to you, and before each treatment we tell you what's covered and what you'll pay.
| Scheme or insurer | Accepted | What to show |
|---|---|---|
| Medical card (DTSS) | yes | yes, card or number |
| PRSI Treatment Benefit | yes | yes, card or number |
| Private health insurance | yes | yes, card or number |
| Patient from another EU country | with the EHIC | European Health Insurance Card |
| No cover | private patient | photo ID |
For medical card holders: an exam, fillings in the basic version, extractions and emergency treatment for pain. For PRSI patients: one exam per calendar year and a contribution to a cleaning.
Premium materials, white composite fillings in full, dental hygiene, crowns and dentures, whitening and treatment beyond what the scheme covers. You'll find the amounts in the treatment price list.
We'll still treat you. You can give us your details at your next visit or over the phone. If your cover isn't confirmed, we charge the treatment as for a private patient.
When you book, we ask
We note the answers in your records and work out what you'll pay in advance.
07What you pay
An overview for patients covered by a scheme. We tell you the amount before treatment starts and it's part of your written plan.
| Treatment | Covered by the scheme | Patient pays |
|---|---|---|
| Check-up, once per calendar year | covered if you had a check-up last year too | €0 |
| Second and further check-ups in the same year | not covered | from €25 |
| X-ray when the dentist requires it | fully covered | €0 |
| Treating decay, basic filling | fully covered | €0 |
| Treating decay, white filling, one surface | basic version covered | €30 |
| Treating decay, white filling, several surfaces | basic version covered | €45 |
| Simple tooth extraction | fully covered | €0 |
| Emergency treatment for toothache | fully covered | €0 |
| Root canal treatment | not covered | from €120 |
| Dental hygiene | not covered | from €60 |
| Crown, bridge, removable denture | not covered | from €300 |
| Teeth whitening | not covered | from €180 |
| Copy of dental records | not covered | €15 |
| Exam at the patient's request without clinical need | not covered | €20 |
| Second and further missed appointments without cancelling | not covered | €20 |
When treating decay, the scheme covers a filling in the basic version. If you want a white composite filling, you only pay the difference: €30 for one surface and €45 for several. Private patients pay the full amount from the treatment price list, that is €55 and €75. We tell you the difference before treatment and show it on your receipt.
08How we work
There's no queue here. Every patient has their own appointment and knows before treatment what will be done, how long it will take and what it will cost. We space appointments out so no more than two booked patients wait at a time.
09Your visit
The first visit takes 30 to 45 minutes and ends with a treatment plan. We do larger procedures at later appointments.
Fill in the form on this page or call us. We confirm the appointment by phone, usually within one working day.
When you arrive you fill in a medical questionnaire and list the medicines you take. It takes about five minutes.
The dentist checks your teeth and gums. If an X-ray is needed, we take it in the surgery and look at it together.
You get a written treatment plan with the price of each procedure. We arrange further appointments to suit you.
Call first thing in the morning on your number here. Every morning we're open we keep a short slot free for toothache, outside booked appointments. If it's taken, we arrange the earliest possible time and advise you what to do until then. With facial swelling, a temperature or an injured tooth, call straight away.
10Reviews
Anyone we've treated can leave a review. We don't edit or delete them. Below are three from the practice's Google profile.
I had the price of the crown on paper before the first drilling and at the end it matched to the euro. They gave me the dates for the impression and the fitting at the very first visit.
I called at eight in the morning with toothache and by half nine I was in the chair. The tooth was saved, and we finished it at a second appointment a week later.
It was our daughter's first time at the dentist, and the first visit was just about sitting in the chair with nothing being done. We waited three weeks for an appointment, which is the only minus.
If you've been to us, open the Willow Dental profile on Google and write a review. It takes two minutes and helps other patients choose. If you weren't happy with your treatment, please tell us directly first, in person or on your number here — we can only fix a mistake if we know about it. The reviews on this page are examples, like the whole website.
11Booking
The form isn't a binding booking. The message goes to the practice's inbox and we confirm the appointment by phone within one working day. If you need an appointment today, call your number here.
This is how the confirmation would look after sending in the live version. In the live version the message goes to the practice's inbox and you get a reply within one working day. Here no details are sent or stored.
12Terms
The rules people ask about most often on the phone. They're the same for new and registered patients and we don't change them during treatment.
We confirm bookings by phone within one working day and send a text reminder the day before. The appointment only stands once we've confirmed it; sending the form doesn't create a booking.
That's how much notice we need to offer the freed slot to another patient. You can cancel or move an appointment by mobile or landline, and we agree a new time during the call.
You pay after treatment, not in advance. We only take a deposit for crowns, bridges and dentures.
You get a receipt on the spot as soon as you pay. On request we issue it in your name and fill in a Med 2 form, so you can claim tax relief on non-routine dental treatment or claim from your insurer.
If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may not manage everything planned and will shorten the treatment. We don't charge for the first missed appointment. For the second and any further ones we charge €20 for the reserved time.
Crowns, bridges and removable dentures come with a 24-month guarantee, fillings with 12 months. Under guarantee we repair or remake the work at no extra cost. The condition is a check-up every six months. The guarantee doesn't cover injuries or work by another dentist.
Before we order work from the dental laboratory we take a 30% deposit. You pay the rest when the finished work is fitted. If you withdraw after the impression has gone to the laboratory, the deposit isn't refunded.
13Vouchers
We issue vouchers for a specific treatment or for an amount of your choice. For employers we arrange check-ups in a block of appointments.
| Voucher | What it's for | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Dental hygiene | one full session | €60 |
| Hygiene and air polishing | one session with air polishing | €80 |
| Home whitening | trays and gel for both jaws | €180 |
| Voucher for an amount | any treatment from the price list | from €30 |
Call or send a message through the form. We prepare the voucher within two working days and you collect it at the practice. You pay on collection, by cash or card.
The voucher holder books in the usual way and hands in the voucher at the appointment. If the treatment costs more than the voucher, they pay the difference on the spot.
For employers we reserve a block of appointments on one day, by arrangement also outside normal opening hours. The minimum is six employees, and it's billed on a single invoice payable within 14 days.
An exam of teeth and gums, an assessment and a written recommendation for each employee. The employer only gets a summary invoice; health information stays between the patient and the practice.
14Practice
A small practice with two chairs. Nobody waits in the corridor and nobody treats two patients at once.
One is for exams and restorative work, the other for dental hygiene. We have the X-ray right in the surgery, so you don't go anywhere else for it.
Seven seats, room for a buggy, drinking water and a coat rack. The children's corner is separate from the adult seating.
The same dentist handles the plan and the finished work; we don't swap during your treatment. Names and who does what are in the Who will treat you section.
We sterilise instruments in a class B autoclave and log every cycle. Single-use materials are used for one patient only. We choose materials for fillings, crowns and dentures according to the work and name them in the plan in advance.
Intraoral X-ray, an ultrasonic scaler, an air polisher and a curing light. You see your X-ray on the screen right from the chair.
Tell us at the start. We adjust the pace, take breaks and explain every step beforehand. We can limit the first session to just the exam and the plan, with no treatment.
